Wax Carving silver Making 12/15/24@9:30a
Service Description
Ring wax carving, also known as wax carving for jewelry making, is a technique used to create intricate and detailed designs for rings or other jewelry pieces. The process begins with the creation of a design by hand. A specific type of wax, often called carving wax or jewelry wax, is chosen for the project. This wax is malleable and allows for intricate carving and shaping. Using specialized carving tools such as wax carving knives, files, and heated tools, the wax is sculpted and carved according to the design. This step requires precision and attention to detail to achieve the desired result. After the basic shape is carved, the piece is refined further to smooth out rough edges and add intricate details. This may involve additional carving, filing, or heating of the wax to make precise adjustments. Once the wax carving is complete and approved, a mold casts the final piece in metal, such as gold, silver, or platinum. The wax is typically encased in a mold material and then melted or burned out to leave behind a cavity in the shape of the design. Molten metal is then poured into the mold to create the final piece. After casting, the metal piece is cleaned, polished, and finished to bring out its shine and beauty. At this stage, any additional details or surface textures may be added to enhance the overall aesthetic of the jewelry.
