Service Description

Trillion Stone Setting Earrings are a distinctive and modern choice in jewelry design. They feature gemstones cut into a triangular shape with three equal sides and slightly rounded or straight edges. Known for their unique silhouette and bold sparkle, trillion-cut stones bring a contemporary flair to earrings, making them perfect for statement pieces or elegant daily wear. Setting Style: Trillion stones are set using either prong, bezel, or flush settings: Prong Setting: Typically, three prongs are used, one for each corner of the stone, securing it while allowing light to enter and highlight the sparkle. This is one of the most popular settings for trillion stones as it emphasizes the unique triangular shape. Balancing Symmetry: Maintaining symmetry is crucial when crafting earrings with a trillion stones. The triangular shape is visually striking and requires perfect alignment to avoid appearing unbalanced. This balance is essential in earrings, where both pieces must mirror each other. Stone Orientation: Trillion stones can be oriented in various ways for earrings. They can be positioned with a point facing downwards, upwards, or to the side, creating different visual effects. Downward-pointing trillion earrings can give an elongating effect, while side-oriented stones offer a more unconventional, avant-garde appearance. Crafting Process and Skill: Setting trillion stones requires careful attention to detail, as sharp angles can be delicate and challenging. The prongs must be positioned appropriately and securely tightened to prevent any risk of the stone coming loose. At the same time, a bezel setting requires precise metalwork to smoothly encase the triangular shape without overshadowing it. In a jewelry class, students would learn how to set a trillion stones by practicing different setting techniques, focusing on precision to maintain the shape and symmetry, and experimenting with design variations that make these stones the centerpiece. The unique cut and three-sided sparkle of trillion stones make them ideal for a creative, eye-catching pair of earrings that stand out from traditional round or square-cut designs. The class will run from 9:30 to 12:30, with a lunch break from 12:30 to 1:30 and then continuing from 1:30 to 4:30. It will be a 5-hour or less instructional class. The minimum class size is 3, and the maximum is 6. If the minimum is not met, the class might be rescheduled.
