Silver Saddle Ring 12/21/24@9:30am

185 US dollars
4100 Cameron Park Drive

Service Description

The saddle ring is a ring in which the wide top tapers to a thinner ring bottom. In this class, you will learn to hammer-set a bezel and then use a graver to finish the top. A graver is a little chisel that takes a rough edge to a smooth edge. The ring of metal (silver) around the stone in a bezel setting means it is very well protected from potential damage. ... A bezel is probably the most secure of all setting types. Because the bezel is usually above the girdle of the stone, the stone is firmly held in place all the time. As artisanal jewelers, we usually ignore the bezels and just say the jewelry is handmade. Master Dan believes in this, as it can add a handmade look. However, we should do it on purpose as a choice and not because we can’t do it better. If you are looking to take your bezels to the next level, then this is the class for you. Pre-requisite: Begining Jewelry making (Part 1 & 2). The minimum class size is 2, and the maximum is 6. If the minimum has not been met, the class might be rescheduled.
