Silver Saddle Ring 4/13/24@9:30am

The saddle ring is a ring in which the wide top tapers to a thinner ring bottom. In this class, you are going to learn to hammer-set a bezel and then use a graver to finish the top. A graver is a little chisel that will take a rough edge to a nice smooth edge. The ring of metal (silver) around the stone in a bezel setting means it is very well protected from potential damage. ... A bezel is very secure, probably the most secure of all setting types. Because the bezel is usually above the girdle of the stone, the stone is firmly held in place all the time. As artisanal jewelers, we usually ignore the bezels and just say it is handmade. Master Dan is a believer in this, as it can add a handmade look but we should do it on purpose as a choice and not because we can’t do it better. If you are looking to take your bezels to the next level then this is the class for you. Pre-requisite: Beginning Jewelry Making. Class size minimum is 2 and the maximum is 3. If the class minimum has not been met, the class might be rescheduled.
Payment in full for class fees is due at the time of registration to reserve your jewelry bench spot. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, and PayPal. If the class is canceled by our school for any reason, we will give you full credit for the same class in the future and you will be given an open lab credit for the inconvenience. You can also transfer to another class, or you can keep a credit on account with us for future classes for up to 90 days (no exceptions). Students can cancel, and receive a credit, or transfer to another class up to 10 days before a jewelry class. No cancellations are accepted after the 10 days deadline; however, we will do what we can to try and sell your reserved spot to a qualified student. If we can sell your reserved spot, you can receive a credit for another class less a $50 cancellation fee. We will keep your credit on an account with us, or apply your fees towards a transfer to another class within 90 days.
