Service Description

What Is Flush Setting in Jewelry? Flush setting is a jewelry stone-setting technique in which a gemstone is embedded into a drilled hole within the metal surface so that the stone sits level (or flush) with the metal. The surrounding metal is then gently pushed and burnished around the edges of the stone to hold it securely in place without prongs or bezels. This technique creates a sleek, modern, and durable design, making it a popular choice for rings, bracelets, and other jewelry pieces. Key Features of Flush Setting 💎 Smooth & Minimalist Look – The stone is set into the metal without protruding, creating a clean and modern aesthetic. 💎 Secure Setting – The metal holds the stone firmly in place, reducing the risk of it coming loose. 💎 Durability – Since the stone is embedded within the metal, it is protected from impact, making flush settings ideal for everyday wear. 💎 Works with Small Stones – Flush settings are typically used for small gemstones, often in accent designs on rings or wedding bands. How Flush Setting Is Done Drilling the Seat – A small hole is drilled into the metal, slightly smaller than the gemstone. Placing the Stone – The stone is carefully inserted into the hole so that it sits flush with the metal surface. Securing the Stone – A burnishing tool is used to push the surrounding metal over the stone’s edges, locking it in place. Polishing the Surface – The jewelry piece is polished to create a smooth and seamless finish. Benefits of Flush Setting ✔ No Snagging – Unlike prong settings, flush-set stones do not catch on clothing or objects. ✔ Minimal Maintenance – Stones are less likely to loosen over time compared to prong settings. ✔ Elegant & Subtle – Offers a refined look without overpowering the design. ✔ Great for Active Wearers – Ideal for those with hands-on jobs or active lifestyles since the stone is well-protected. Common Jewelry Pieces with Flush Settings Wedding Bands & Rings – Often used for accent diamonds or small gems along the band. Bracelets & Bangles – Provides a modern, streamlined appearance. Earrings – Used for minimalist stud designs. Custom Jewelry – Great for contemporary designs that prioritize durability and elegance. Minimum and Maximum is 3, if the minimum has not been met, the class may be rescheduled.
