Service Description

We have created this class for people interested in the introduction and basics of jewelry making in a 4-hour class. Silver friendship wire rings are typically simple rings made from silver wire that are exchanged between friends as tokens of their bond and friendship. They are often handmade, featuring a minimalist design with a single wire twisted into a loop or knot shape. These rings are meant to symbolize the enduring connection between friends. They are often given as gifts on special occasions such as birthdays and graduations or simply as a gesture of appreciation. The simplicity of these rings reflects the idea that friendship is precious and doesn't need to be adorned with elaborate gifts. They are often lightweight and comfortable, making them perfect for everyday use. Some people even enjoy making these rings as a DIY project, adding a personal touch to the gift. You will make three friendship rings and learn to use chip solder, paste solder, and flux to successfully solder together. By shaping silver into your designs, you will create three simple, beautiful rings. Soldering (usually pronounced soddering) is the method of joining metal parts together with soft, rigid, or paste solder. Flux is a soldering compound that keeps the soldering joints clean by blocking oxygen, which causes oxidation. Flux cleans, coats, and protects the piece, allowing the solder to flow easily between the joints when heated. The class will run from 9:30 to 12:30, with a lunch break from 12:30 to 1:30 and then continuing from 1:30 to 2:30. This will be a four-hour instructional class. The class size maximum is 6. The class might be rescheduled if the minimum of 3 is not met.
