We have created this class for the person who is interested in the introduction and basics of jewelry making in a 4 hour class. Friends wear these rings to show their support, appreciation and commitment to each other. Celebration of International Friendship Day, which takes place each year on the first Sunday of August, often involves the exchange of friendship rings. You will be making 3 friendship rings and learn the use of chip solder, paste solder, and flux to successfully solder together and create 3 simple beautiful rings by shaping silver into your personal designs. Soldering (usually pronounced soddering) is the method of joining metal parts together with soft solder, hard solder, or paste solder. Flux is a soldering compound that keeps the soldering joints clean by blocking oxygen, which causes oxidation. Flux cleans, coats, and protects the piece and enables the solder to flow easily between the joints when heated. Class will go from 9:30-12:30 break for lunch from 12:30-1:30, and continue 1:30-2:30. This will be a 4 hour instructional class. Class size maximum is 3. If the minimum of 2 is not met, class might be rescheduled.
We understand that things come up. If you are not able to make a scheduled class, please call us as soon as possible at 916-350-0546 and we can reschedule your class. No refunds allowed.
